How to install avatars on your PS3

1. Prepare the USB Drive

  • Plug your FAT32 USB drive into your computer.
  • Create a folder on the root of the USB drive named psn_avatar.
  • Place all of your .edat avatar files inside this psn_avatar folder.

2. Transfer to the PS3

  • Safely eject the USB drive from your computer and plug it into a USB port on your PS3.
  • Open multiMAN on your PS3.
  • Press Start + Select to switch to File Manager mode.
  • Navigate to your USB drive, find the psn_avatar folder, and copy it.

3. Paste into Your Profile Folder

  • In multiMAN's file manager, go to dev_hdd0/home/0000000X/ (0000000X is your local profile number, such as 00000001).
  • Paste the psn_avatar folder with your .edat files directly inside your profile folder (dev_hdd0/home/0000000X/psn_avatar).

4. Apply the Avatar

  • Exit multiMAN back to the XMB.
  • Go to PlayStation Network → Account Management → Avatar (or edit your profile).
  • Select and apply your newly unlocked avatar.
